Medical information in Turkish for my mother

• Mother (72), 3 brothers and 2 sisters (ages 29–41)

• Children involved in caring for their mother

• Speaks Turkish and Dutch

Our mother has regular medical appointments for her diabetes, but because she doesn’t speak Dutch very well, one of us always goes with her. There are five of us—adult brothers and sisters—and we take turns so that we can manage it alongside our own work and families. That works fine in general, but what takes up a lot of time is updating each other completely after every appointment. We have a WhatsApp group where we share everything, but we still sometimes miss details. Someone will ask a question, and the person who was there no longer remembers the exact answer.

Since we started using Ditto, things have become much easier. Whoever goes along records the conversation with Ditto, which then automatically creates a clear summary. We share that summary in the WhatsApp group so that everyone has the same information right away. What’s great is that we can easily translate the text into Turkish for our mother. Since we don’t always know how to explain medical terms properly, Ditto helps keep everything simple and clear. This way, she understands things better, and we all feel more confident about what was discussed.
