Staying involved in my father’s care

  • Man (42)

  • Involved in caring for father (73) with heart failure

My father has had heart problems for a while and regularly goes for check-ups with the cardiologist. I want to be involved and support him, but it’s sometimes a challenge. I have a busy job and a family, and it’s not always easy to be present at every appointment, especially since not every check-up is equally important. Still, I want to make sure I stay informed and don’t miss anything important, because when I ask him how it went, he often just says, “fine.”

Together, we installed Ditto on his phone and used it for the first time during an appointment. In the Ditto app, I saw a card explaining that it’s always allowed to record conversations in the Netherlands. That was useful information because my father was worried about that.

Now, my father records his conversations with the cardiologist, and Ditto automatically creates a clear summary. This way, I don’t always have to be there to know exactly what was discussed. If there’s something I need to pay attention to or help him with, I see it right away. It gives me peace of mind, and my father feels supported because he knows I can follow along and think with him.

For us, Ditto has really become a helpful tool. We save time, and it helps keep everything organized. The time we spend together is now less about his care. I can really recommend Ditto to anyone who is caring for a parent and looking for a way to stay involved.

👍 My father can use Ditto himself and shares summaries with me, so I stay well informed.

Ditto is available in the App Store
